Makers Choice for Refined Grade Specters

We started taking orders for the Specter just over 9 months ago, and it has been a busy year so far!  Here is what we have in the works for the next 3 months:
  • Finish up ~30 Prestige grade orders placed earlier this year.
  • Release the Specter Utility grade.
  • Prototype a bolster lock version of the Specter.
  • Start prototyping our next knife.
I am not sure if the same thought pops into your mind, but I always look at that list and wonder how the heck we are going to get it all done ... and keep making Refined grade Specters at the same time.  Joe and I have been talking about how best to make this happen, and need to make some changes with how we handle Refined grade.

At least for the near future, we are going to switch to offering only maker's choice on Refined grade Specters.  In the past we have done mostly book openings where we take X number of orders and customize a Refined grade Specter according to the order.  For me personally, I love this part of the process and getting to help to create a knife that is perfect for the person ordering.  I say this to make sure you know that it is an important part of the process for me, and I would like to be able to continue this at some point in the future.

I have talked to a number of you about the best way to handle maker's choice, and it seems that the overwhelming preference is to have a lottery system.  Starting on 9/10/2018, we will begin listing whatever we have available on the website each Monday morning.  You will be able to find these on our Shop page under Maker's Choice.  On each listing there will be a "Contact Us" form that you will use to enter the lottery.  On Monday night, we will do a lottery for those signed up and have the knife ready to ship out on Tuesday.

Please let me know if you have questions about the process.  Otherwise, stayed tuned in the next few weeks for more information about Utility.
